Vets in Action Experience
The Vets in Action experience is an exciting 40-minute journey into the world of animal care and veterinary science. Visitors begin their mission in the 'Departures Lounge', where they'll learn about the critical role of veterinary care and their specific tasks for the day. They'll then assist a vet nurse in the field rescue of a young rhino, carrying out vital checks such as heart rate, breathing, hydration levels and body condition scoring. Returning to London through 'customs', participants will help perform health checks on salamanders rescued from the illegal wildlife trade, gaining hands-on experience in tackling real world conservation challenges.
Vets In Action activities are included in your Zoo admission ticket unless stated otherwise.
Sessions running every 20mins with an hour break over lunch (12.25-13.25pm). Upon arriving at the zoo, visitors can head to the Vets in Action entrance to book their experience time slot. Slots are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
*Tours may be cancelled at short notice in case of urgent animal care needs.
