Can you smoke or vape at London Zoo?
At London Zoo, we ask visitors not to smoke or vape on their visit. This helps us to provide the best environment for our visitors and animals, so we kindly ask you to refrain from smoking or vaping within our Zoo grounds. However, if you do need to smoke or vape, please follow the guidance below:
- In line with UK legislation, smoking is completely prohibited in all indoor and covered spaces at the Zoo. In addition to this, we also prohibit smoking and vaping outside of any spaces specifically designated for that purpose.
- A designated smoking and vaping area is located outside of the Zoo - please ask a staff member or volunteer to direct you. Please be aware that if you do choose to leave the Zoo to use this area, you will need to get a hand stamp at the main entrance in order to re-enter. You will also be required to have a bag search upon re-entry. If you choose to leave the Zoo site within the hour before closing, this will need to be done via the Zoo exit and you will not be able to re-enter.
- Whilst using the designated area, we respectfully ask smokers to be sensitive to other visitors and ensure, at all times, that their smoke does not create a nuisance for others nearby.
- Please note that we treat ‘e-cigarettes’ in the same way as tobacco-based products, so the same rules and restrictions apply.
