Post-16 Biology Study Day

Join us at London Zoo for our Post-16 Biology Study Day, launching in Spring 2025. This exciting experience allows Biology students to explore biodiversity conservation through informative talks, self-guided zoo research, and interactive workshops. Learn about endangered species conservation and the role zoos play in protecting biodiversity. 

Our Biology Study Days are tailored to align with A-level Biology exam specifications and are available in the autumn and spring terms. For more details about the content of the day please scroll down to the 'Here's what you can expect' section below.

Age group: 16+

Location: Onsite at London Zoo

Timings: 10:30 - 14:30

Availability: Bookable during the autumn and spring terms, subject to availability.

Capacity: Each Study Day can accommodate up to 60 students.

Price: £135 in addition to the standard education rates for zoo entry.

Below is an overview of the content we aim to offer in the upcoming spring term:

  • Zoos and Conservation Session: This talk will explore how zoos contribute to species and habitat conservation through various approaches, including breeding programs, scientific research, and community engagement.
  • Self-Guided Zoo Research: Students will have the opportunity to visit the zoo and gather information on endangered species 
  • Interactive Workshop: A group activity exploring key concepts in conservation and species protection, facilitated by a Learning Officer.
